About the anthology: Kakalak 2006 will collect the best work available by North and South Carolina poets into a perfect bound volume of approximately 100 to 120 pages, priced at $10. All poets selected for publication will receive a complimentary copy of the anthology. This is a not-for-profit enterprise and the editors have invested their own time and money to ensure that the final product is truly a premier quality work of art.
Kak•a•lak (kak ' a lak) n. [Colloq. Carolina] 1. an endearment of the Carolinas, especially by people raised in the area who have moved elsewhere. Conveys a tongue-in-cheek quality, a willingness to laugh at oneself and one's origins, while still remaining proud and affectionate towards them.

Charlotte is a nice place to live. Better yet the surrounding counties have beautiful country roads. We're 2-3 hours from the Appalachin Mountains and Blue Ridge Parkway, and we're about 4 hours from numerous beautiful beaches, both resort type and quite ones.
Thanks for writing, and I wish your sister much success in this new location and in her job.
